Full Listing Description

Her two-stateroom, two-head layout is ideal for extended coastal cruising or live-aboard use. The private forward stateroom features a generously sized double berth, full cabinet and drawer storage, and ensuite head access, complete with a VacuFlush toilet, stainless steel sink, and a separate stand-up shower. The starboard guest cabin offers twin berths with sliding privacy door, hanging locker, five storage drawers, and its own ensuite Raritan freshwater head. The main salon features an L-shaped lounge, a folding leaf table, and abundant storage throughout.

The U-shaped galley is well appointed with a Force 10 LPG three-burner stove and oven, a Sharp microwave, twin Dometic/domestic 12-volt refrigerators (updated 2023), a double stainless steel sink, and generous cabinet and pantry storage. A Kumo hot water heater was installed in 2024.

The pilothouse is roomy and bright, with 6’7” of standing headroom and large sliding windows providing excellent visibility, light, and ventilation. The lower helm is equipped with dual Raymarine Axiom 9” chart plotters, a Raymarine color digital radar, an AP300X autopilot, VHF, and a Ritchie compass — all updated in 2023. The flybridge upper helm station also features a Raymarine Axiom 9” chart plotter and VHF, enclosed by a new flybridge enclosure (2023).

Open-air cruising is easily enjoyed from the flybridge or the open cockpit, complete with a custom Kenyon electric grill and cabinet (2024) and a hot and cold cockpit shower (2023). Wide side decks with a tall bow rail make bow access safe and straightforward, while the large swim platform and transom door provide easy boarding from the water.

Her twin Caterpillar 3116 diesel engines have undergone recent upgrades, alongside a major 1,000-hour service completed in 2020. Both engines received significant mechanical attention in 2020 and 2024, including new turbos, raw water pumps, and associated components. A new Phasor 8kW generator was installed in 2023. All services are current and up to date.

This Legacy 40 represents an exceptional opportunity to acquire an upgraded and comfortable classic Downeast cruiser at a compelling price.
