Broker Overview

The 2027 Canados Gladiator 961 Speed represents a unique opportunity for a discerning buyer seeking a new build with exceptional performance capabilities. At 96 feet, this vessel is designed to achieve speeds approaching 50 knots, a remarkable feat for a yacht of this size. This is not a typical production yacht; its lightweight construction, utilizing E-Glass and Vinylester for the hull and vacuum-bagged carbon fiber for the deck and superstructure, underscores a commitment to advanced engineering. The 'Speed' designation is earned, not merely a marketing term. The interior, designed by Cristiano Gatto, offers significant customization, allowing an owner to tailor the layout and finishes to their precise requirements. While the 'Contact for Price' indicates a premium investment, the value proposition lies in acquiring a bespoke, high-performance platform. This is a yacht for an owner who prioritizes speed, contemporary design, and the ability to personalize their vessel from the ground up, rather than adapting to an existing inventory. It's a statement yacht, built for those who demand both luxury and exhilarating performance. As a new build, it offers the advantage of the latest technology and full warranty, but requires a longer lead time for delivery.

Expert Review

The Canados Gladiator 961 Speed is a serious contender for buyers prioritizing outright performance without sacrificing luxury. Its build quality, utilizing infusion and vacuum-bagging techniques with advanced composites, is indicative of a shipyard focused on structural integrity and weight savings, critical for achieving its stated speeds. Sea-keeping at high speeds will be a key differentiator, and Canados has a strong reputation for robust hulls. Value for money here is not about the lowest price point, but about the cost per knot for a luxury yacht of this size and bespoke nature. For a new build, a thorough review of the build contract, specifications, and payment schedule is paramount. During the build process, regular inspections by an independent surveyor are highly recommended to ensure adherence to agreed-upon standards and specifications. Comparable alternatives might include other high-performance custom builds from European yards, but few will offer this specific blend of size, speed, and customization at this level.

Experience unparalleled performance on the Canados Gladiator 961 Speed. This 96-foot yacht cuts through waves at close to 50 knots thanks to its advanced engineering and lightweight construction. The meticulously crafted exterior boasts a spacious aft deck with a wet bar, sunpad, and transformable cinema screen. Relaxation continues on the expansive foredeck and the largest-in-class flybridge offering wind protection at high speeds. Inside, the Cristiano Gatto-designed interior prioritizes both comfort and customization. The main deck features a panoramic salon with an oversized sofa and hidden TV, while the lower deck offers multiple layout options, including a full-beam master suite. High-end materials and limitless décor possibilities ensure the 961 Speed reflects your unique style.

Reaching speeds close to 50 knots with a 29,22-meter / 96’ luxury yacht is no easy task, especially when reliability is an essential factor. This is why nothing has been left aside during the engineering phases of the Gladiator 961.

The hull is made of E-Glass and Vinylester resin lamination using an infusion process while the deck and superstructure are made of vacuum-bagged carbon fiber. All cabin floors are structural and made of vacuum-bagged E-Glass with an Airex ® coring to reduce weight, eliminate squeaking, increase rigidity, and reduce noise. The same philosophy has been applied to interior furniture, produced in-house, and made of lightweight cored material such as high-density polyurethane foam or composite and aluminum honeycomb. All cleats are made of titanium and forged carbon fiber.

The Gladiator 961 Speed is available with two different power packages, either twin MTU ® 16V 2000M96L delivering 2600 HP each or triple MAN ® V12- 2000 HP. In both cases, engines are coupled to Surface Drives equipped with Auto-Trim and Auto-Flaps computers allowing them to electronically reach, at a given speed, the best tabs and trim settings optimizing fuel burn.

The aft deck offers a lounge area for 12 people with direct access to a wet bar with a grill, ice maker, and fridge. At night, two carbon fiber poles will be placed at each aft corner of the sun pad to install a 1,60 x 2,80 m screen which will turn the entire aft deck into an outdoor cinema.

The foredeck comes with a lounge with two gigantic sofas and an ergonomic sun pad. The fly-bridge, commonly called a sport-fly on such boat, is, here too, bare none the largest in the category and the only one offering true wind protection when underway.

For the Gladiator 961 Speed, we called for the talents of one of Italy’s top interior designers, Cristiano Gatto. The main deck interior is designed with an oversized sofa with full-height side windows offering unobstructed views of the water, and the mirror TV is recessed in the bar right across. Furthermore, the round dining table is separated from the wheelhouse by a floor-to-ceiling totem equipped with another mirror TV.

The helmsman will be seated in the exact center line for a better feel of the boat at high speed. Visibility from the wheelhouse is considerably increased by the structureless single-piece curved glass panel windshield.

The lower deck cabin access stairwell is located at the port of the wheelhouse, while to the starboard side is the automatic side deck access door to the passageway. An independent stairwell aft leads to the Boffi® galley, crew quarters for four, and access to the engine room.

Below, the boat is offered with three cabins and a home cinema, or with four cabins. In both versions, the full beam master is at the center of the boat.

An interior designer was not assigned an easy task. He had to comply with a strict road book and specification to remain in the acceptable weights and balance of the masses, and at the same time, was asked to fulfill all clients' wishes in terms of décor. But make no mistake, the interior décor and style are left to your decision.

The Gladiator 961 Speed interiors are modern, fresh, and elegant. The décor was to be welcoming, easy to maintain, and timeless. It was to be original and high-quality, but not ostentatious. The comfort of kids and guests was essential.

For the main deck, Gatto opted for a mixture of natural materials such as white and taupe Premium Italian leather for the walls, lacquered wood for the ceilings, and linen for the sofas with decorative inserts in gunpowder color, while natural panels are made of satin blond ash wood.

The floor is made of premium synthetic teak decking, giving the feeling of a natural extension of the aft deck inside. But again, all is left to the client’s choices. In opposition to the very natural colors and materials, the side cupboards are made of glossy carbon fiber to remind us that the Gladiator 961 Speed, despite its luxury interiors, is first and foremost a piece of advanced engineering and technology. The lower deck is no different in terms of atmosphere, except for the floors dressed in wood parquet and custom-made carpet, as well as some walls dressed in custom-embossed leather created for Canados.
