Broker Overview

The 2004 Ferretti Yachts 112, 'MAMBO', represents a significant offering in the superyacht market, being one of only fifteen vessels from Ferretti's inaugural 112 series built at the esteemed CRN Ancona shipyard. This model benefits from the direct involvement of Piero Ferrari and the design prowess of Gianni Zuccon, resulting in a yacht that combines dramatic lines with elegant styling. At 112 feet, she offers substantial volume and a well-conceived layout. The accommodation includes a rare main deck master/VIP stateroom with his-and-hers heads, alongside a full-beam master and two generous queen staterooms on the lower deck, totaling four guest cabins. This configuration provides exceptional privacy and comfort for owners and guests. The main deck also features a gourmet galley, an elegant dining salon, and a main salon with a full-service bar, underscoring its suitability for entertaining. Powered by twin MTU 12V4000 M90 engines, she is built for reliable performance. While a 2004 build, the inherent quality of Ferretti's CRN construction means this vessel, if well-maintained, offers a robust platform. Her asking price of $5,250,000 positions her as a competitive option for a buyer seeking a proven superyacht with a strong pedigree, offering considerable value compared to newer builds of similar caliber, provided she has received appropriate refits and ongoing care.

Expert Review

The Ferretti 112 series, particularly those from the CRN Ancona yard, are known for their solid fiberglass construction and high build quality. These are not production boats in the typical sense; they represent Ferretti's serious entry into the superyacht segment. Sea-keeping is generally good for a yacht of this size and type, offering a stable platform in various conditions. The twin MTU 12V4000 M90 engines are a proven power plant, but their maintenance history is paramount for a vessel of this vintage. Value for money is strong here; a new build of this size and quality would command significantly more. During a survey, pay close attention to engine service records, generator hours, and the condition of all major systems—HVAC, stabilizers, tenders, and electronics, which may require updating. Inspect for any signs of water intrusion around windows and deck fittings. Comparables might include early 2000s Mangustas or certain Azimut Grande models, but the Ferretti 112 offers a distinct blend of Italian styling and robust construction.
