Broker Overview

This 2004 Lagoon 43 Powercat, 'My Three Girls', presents a compelling opportunity for buyers seeking a well-maintained and recently updated catamaran in the current market. Priced at $324,995, this vessel has seen a significant price reduction, indicating a motivated seller and strong value proposition. Unlike many power catamarans of this vintage, this particular 43 PC has undergone substantial refit work, most recently in 2022-2023, addressing common areas of concern and bringing her systems up to a higher standard. This means a buyer can expect a more turn-key experience, avoiding immediate capital expenditures often associated with older vessels. The twin Volvo Penta KAMD300-A diesel engines, coupled with shaft drives, offer reliable and proven propulsion without the complexities of pod systems. Her three-cabin, three-head layout provides exceptional privacy and comfort, making her suitable for extended cruising or accommodating guests. The inclusion of a 7Kw diesel generator and four-zone AC/heat further enhances her liveaboard and cruising capabilities. This is a practical, well-equipped power catamaran that warrants serious consideration for those prioritizing space, stability, and recent upgrades.

Expert Review

The Lagoon 43 Powercat is known for its voluminous interior and stable platform, characteristic of catamaran designs. Construction is solid fiberglass, offering durability. For a 2004 model, the reported recent refit is a significant advantage, as many vessels of this age require substantial investment. Prospective buyers should focus their survey on verifying the extent and quality of this recent work, particularly electrical systems, plumbing, and engine maintenance records. The Volvo Penta KAMD300-A engines are generally robust, but their service history is paramount. Sea-keeping for the 43 PC is predictable; she offers a comfortable ride in moderate conditions, though like all catamarans, she can hobby-horse in a head sea. Value for money is strong given the recent updates and current asking price, especially when compared to other power cats that haven't seen similar investment. Alternatives might include other mid-40s power catamarans like the Fountaine Pajot Highland series, but few will offer this level of documented recent refurbishment.

Owner Sentiment
