Broker Overview

This 1989 Striker 62 Convertible, 'ELSKA,' represents a unique opportunity in the sportfishing market. Built by Hakvoort in the Netherlands, this vessel benefits from a superior construction pedigree, utilizing an aluminum hull known for its durability and performance. The inclusion of twin Caterpillar 3412 engines is a significant asset, offering robust and reliable power for serious offshore endeavors. While the exact hours are not provided, a 3412 CAT repower mentioned in the listing suggests a substantial investment in her propulsion system, which is a key consideration for any buyer. Her wide beam allows for a spacious three-cabin, four-head layout, providing comfortable accommodations not typically found in vessels of this era and category. The full tower and bow thruster enhance her functionality for both fishing and maneuverability. Located in South Florida, 'ELSKA' is positioned for immediate use in prime cruising and fishing grounds. The recent price reduction to $499,000, coupled with the new tender and crane, positions her as a compelling value proposition for a buyer seeking a well-built, capable sportfish with a proven offshore heritage. Expert Review

The Striker 62 Convertible, particularly those built by Hakvoort, are known as robust, capable offshore platforms. The aluminum hull provides a strong, lightweight structure, contributing to both speed and fuel efficiency for its size. The twin Caterpillar 3412 engines are a workhorse choice, offering excellent power and a long service life, though their fuel consumption will be commensurate with their output. Sea-keeping is generally very good, handling rough conditions with confidence, a hallmark of Dutch construction. For a vessel of this vintage, a thorough survey focusing on the aluminum hull for any electrolysis or corrosion issues, as well as a comprehensive engine survey, is paramount. Pay close attention to the condition of the electrical systems and plumbing, which are common areas for wear on older vessels. Compared to similar-sized sportfish from the era, the Hakvoort-built Striker often stands out for its superior build quality and finish. This vessel offers a lot of boat for the money, especially considering the engine repower and recent additions.

Full Listing Description

PRICE REDUCED! Now Asking $499,000! (4/9/2026)

ELSKA is a rare find! These 62’ Strikers were known as battleships. Being built at Hakvoort in the Netherlands places ELSKA at the top of the Striker hierarchy.

The massive master suite and generous accommodations are thanks to her wide beam. Nice little touches such as inlaid Mother of Pearl and contrasting inlaid banding in her mahogany joinery testify to her high-end build by a renowned Dutch shipyard.

New electronics, a 3412 CAT repower, and a new tender add to the allure of ELSKA!
