Broker Overview

This 2007 Viking 64 Convertible, '1/2 BARREL', presents a compelling opportunity in the sportfishing market. Powered by twin MTU 16V2000 M91 HP engines, which received a significant update service in 2022, this vessel offers robust performance, capable of a 25-knot cruise at 1700rpm with efficiency, and a top end of 30 knots. This particular 64 Viking stands out with its additional fuel capacity, totaling 2300 gallons, a rare find for this vintage, extending its offshore range considerably. The yacht has benefited from only two owners and consistent professional maintenance, including substantial upgrades in 2014 and 2023. Recent improvements include two new Kohler generators installed in late 2024, a new Eskimo Ice unit in mid-2025, and a recent haul-out for anti-fouling and running gear tune-up. The inclusion of a full Palm Beach tuna tower and a well-appointed cockpit with mezzanine seating, newer refrigeration, and a five-year-old teak deck underscores its serious fishing pedigree. Located in Jupiter, Florida, this Viking 64 is a proven offshore platform ready for its next owner.

Expert Review

The Viking 64 Convertible is a well-regarded platform known for its robust build and excellent sea-keeping abilities, particularly in challenging conditions. This specific vessel, with its MTU 16V2000 M91 HP power, offers a desirable blend of speed and reliability. The additional fuel capacity is a significant asset, differentiating it from many comparables and enhancing its long-range capabilities. When considering this vessel, a thorough survey should focus on the integrity of the fiberglass hull, the condition of the MTU engines post-2022 service, and the functionality of the recently installed generators and ice maker. Attention should also be paid to the electrical systems, given the upgrades, and the structural integrity of the tuna tower. Comparables in this market segment would include Hatteras and Spencer convertibles of similar vintage, but the Viking's reputation for build quality and this vessel's specific upgrades and fuel capacity make it a strong contender for the asking price.

"1/2 BARREL" is a 4-stateroom 64' Viking sportfisherman which has had only 2 owners since new. Powered by MTU 16V2000s the motors have had a significant update service in 2022. Note this vessel also carries the additional fuel capacity. Maintained by professionals, there has been good regular maintenance and two periods of significant upgrade in 2014 and 2023. Additionally, at the end of 2024 two brand new Kohler generators were installed. Sporting a proud Palm Beach full tuna tower with a clean foredeck she is recently out of the boatyard with new anti-fouling and running gear tune-up. A comfortable offshore ride, the larger engine package in this boat allows 25 knots at 1700rpm with relative economy or kick it up to a 30 knot cruise if wanted. This may be the only 64' Viking of this vintage with 2300 gallons of fuel capacity. A great fishing machine that's got mezzanine seating with newer refrigeration units, a new Eskimo Ice unit in mid-2025, and a teak cockpit deck updated about 5 years ago. Available for showings in Jupiter, FL. Check out more details in the full specs following.
