Expert Review

The 1989 Feadship 116 Sport Fisher is a testament to the build quality of its era. Feadship's aluminum construction is legendary for its strength and longevity, making this a vessel that, with proper maintenance, will continue to perform for decades. The Detroit Diesel 16V149TA engines are workhorses, known for their reliability and power, though a buyer should anticipate their characteristic fuel consumption. The addition of two Seakeeper 45s is a significant upgrade, dramatically improving comfort at anchor and underway. For a vessel of this age, a comprehensive survey will be critical, focusing on systems integrity, hull condition, and a thorough engine inspection. While the electronics have been updated, ensure they meet your specific navigation and fishing requirements.
