Broker Overview

This 2019 Jarrett Bay 67, 'Privateer', represents a unique opportunity to acquire a custom-built sportfish with a proven pedigree. Extended from the renowned 64' hull, this 67-footer offers enhanced space in the lazarette and a dedicated swim platform, a practical addition for both fishing and general utility. Power comes from twin Caterpillar C-18 Acert engines, providing reliable performance for serious offshore endeavors. The vessel is equipped for tournament-level fishing, featuring a large cockpit, Release Marine battle saddle, expanded livewell, rear helm station, and Rupp outriggers. Beyond its fishing capabilities, the interior showcases Jarrett Bay's hallmark custom craftsmanship, with hand-built teak joinery throughout the salon, galley, and staterooms, creating a luxurious and comfortable environment for extended trips. While the listing states 'No' for SeaKeeper and Bow Thrusters in the initial data, the description explicitly mentions a SeaKeeper 16 and a hydraulic bow thruster, which are significant comfort and maneuverability enhancements. This discrepancy should be verified during a showing. This is a serious sportfish that does not compromise on interior comfort or build quality, making it a compelling option for a discerning buyer.

The dedicated sportfish layout may not suit those prioritizing extensive interior volume over cockpit space.
As a custom yacht, resale market can be more niche compared to production models.

Expert Review

Jarrett Bay yachts are synonymous with bespoke quality, exceptional ride, and serious fishing capability. The 67' 'Privateer' is no exception, offering a custom extension that adds practical space without compromising the hull's proven performance. The composite hull ensures a durable and efficient platform. Prospective buyers should focus on the condition of the custom teak joinery and verify all mechanical systems, particularly the SeaKeeper 16 and hydraulic bow thruster, which are critical comfort and operational features. The Caterpillar C-18 Acert engines are a solid choice for this size vessel, offering a good balance of power and reliability. For a vessel of this caliber, a thorough survey by a specialist familiar with custom Carolina builds is paramount. Comparable alternatives might include custom builds from Spencer, Bayliss, or Viking's larger sportfish models, but few will offer the bespoke charm and specific layout of a Jarrett Bay.
