Crescendo is a Monk 36 classic aft-cabin trawler, hull #214, 2001 model year. The popularity of the Monk stems from her overall design and execution by dedicated craftsmen in Nova Scotia.
Length overall: 39’10”; beam: 13’0”; draft: 4’0”.
Crescendo cruises at 7-9 knots.
Crescendo features an unusual king-size bed in the master aft-cabin. Hanging closets, shelves, cabinets, drawers, and a space under the bed provide ample storage for clothing. The master head features an electrically operated toilet and a stand-up shower stall.
The forward cabin has a comfortable V-berth and its own head with an electrically operated toilet. There is a large closet. A sliding door affords privacy to the entire forward cabin.
The main cabin (or “salon”) includes the lower helm and a comfortable Captain’s chair. A settee provides comfortable seating which can be used as a bed, with cabinets underneath. An attractive folding table replaces the unwieldy original table. The galley includes a spacious refrigerator and freezer, a three-burner propane stove and oven. Cabinets and drawers provide ample space for storage of food and dinnerware. A flat-screen television is included. The air conditioning unit in the main cabin was new in 2023.
The flybridge has excellent 360-degree visibility. Aft of the upper helm on the flybridge there is a seating and entertainment area that has been comfortably furnished and enclosed on four sides with canvas, screens and isinglass.
The aft deck provides a spacious area for seating and entertainment. A large dock box on the aft deck provides storage space for large items and also serves as a seat for one or two friends when they come aboard for happy hour.

Statement of the current owners:
We purchased Crescendo in 2019 with long-distance cruising in mind. We fulfilled this ambition with great joy. We lived aboard for months at a time in comfort, traveling 1200 miles on our longest trip. In North Carolina our favorite ports of call were Manteo, Oriental, Beaufort, Southport. In South Carolina, we fell in love with Charleston and a marina on John’s Island where we lingered for several months.
One of the features of a 1200-mile trip is that parts and systems that need attention reveal themselves. With the help of excellent professionals, we maintained Crescendo in a high state of fitness.
We have satisfied our desire for long-distance cruising. For the future we envision two- and three-day trips around Chesapeake Bay: Rock Hall, St. Michael’s, Solomon’s, Hampton. That purpose will be served by a smaller boat, and that is our plan.
«We have been very happy with the help we have received from Yacht Access. As a result of their excellent service, we found exactly what we wanted.»
