The Oyster 55 is one of the most iconic and timeless designs in yachting history, aimed at providing a safe, fast, ergonomic, and comfortable platform for long range shorthanded cruising. Featuring a raised deck saloon, center cockpit, cutter rig, sugar scoop transom, fully-skegged rudder, and 3 cabin/1 workshop layout with a large owner’s suite aft, this design philosophy has become nearly ubiquitous, with similar examples from Oyster and dozens of other brands/boatbuilders having sailing millions of shorthanded miles around the world. It can be argued that Oyster did it first and did it best, and many would say that they still do.  

BAKER STREET specifically has benefited from a charmed life, having had only two owners. The original owner was a mechanical engineer and specced the boat out with many custom and redundant systems that set her in a league above the other 55’s. This includes redundant autopilots, anchor windlasses, and power generation systems. Her current owner is a professional superyacht captain who invested heavily into maintenance and modern upgrades. He and his family enjoyed cruising and living aboard and are now ready for the next chapter, presenting a fantastic option for a future owner to step into a pedigree cruising boat which is truly turnkey, and at a competitive price point.
