The Post, Egg Harbor and Viking sport fish designs have always caught my attention. Turns out, they had a common origin. John Leek and Russell Post founded Egg Harbor on the heels of WWII in 1946 - Post left 11 years later to start his own brand and Leek years later sold his manufacturing facilities to Viking. The south Jersey coast was a great testing ground for these boats and Post focused on building a few boat models very well, mainly the Sport Fisherman in varied 40-ish lengths with enough fuel to run from the Atlantic coast to the canyons and back with some trolling time in between. The bold, sleek forward hull is sexy and slices heavy seas like a knife. See the link below for more Post history.
Bellevue Square is outfitted as a cruiser - though one could easily add outriggers if desired for Bay or offshore trolling - and like many she was used for Chesapeake-to-Carolina cruising. The main salon feels bigger than a 43 footer and is great for relaxing, entertaining or liveaboard with huge windows giving light and views. The owners hired well-known, reputable local craftsmen to update the interior living space, appliances, galley and draperies so she's updated and comfortable for many years to come. The installation of a washer/dryer in the cockpit means that sandy swimsuits don't need to come inside.
The master stateroom is forward with a custom centerline Queen bed. Hanging lockers port and starboard of the master berth provide ample storage with a ventilation hatch overhead. Aft to port is the spacious galley area with a full size refrigerator and all the amenities. Aft to starboard is the head with vanity mirror and separate stall shower. Followed back to starboard is the second stateroom with upper and lower berths. Access to the head from both staterooms. Up a couple of steps to the main salon with an L shaped settee to port and a couple of barrel chairs to starboard. Out the salon door to a large cockpit suitable for serious fishing or entertaining. There's a classic weather station with 3 large brass dials and a clock that chimes the quarter hour. This is a very nice combo of homey comfort and amenities, with built in nautical touches.
Up on the fly bridge you have a center helm with 2 captain's chairs and a forward facing bench seat. The mid-helm location enables clear sight lines for the captain to the stern corners, particularly helpful around the docks. Although the engines could use a little paint, the hoses are in great shape, the bilge is clean, there's no significant oil leakage (I know...Detroits with oil in, not under, them!?) and they started and ran fantastic the week before Christmas 2024 when the owner ran them across the Herring Bay to pull for the winter.
This is a great boat for the money - if you've never been aboard a Post, come see this one. She is sweet!

«When things weren't working out with my previous Yacht Broker, a friend of mine suggested that I contact Yacht Access to sell my Sea Ray. I contacted Dan Paolillo at Yacht Access and there was absolutely no pressure. After our initial conversation Dan followed up with a list of comparable vessels recently sold and a list of similar vessels currently available with asking prices. After looking over the information we decided on an asking price and within 90 days Dan had my yacht under contract. Two weeks later it was sold. Since then we've kept in close touch and will hopefully be closing on my next vessel soon. After no success selling my 48' Sea Ray Sedan Bridge with my previous broker, calling Yacht Access was the best decision I ever made. I would encourage anyone looking to buy or sell to contact these professionals.»
